Las Vegas Sands Names Collin Morikawa Brand Ambassador

Collin Morikawa

This multiyear association will include the Los Angeles local advancing Sands’ coordinates resort casinos in Singapore and Macau, China. Both Morikawa and Sands aim to advance mutual goals of building strong, resilient communities with a focus on youth development and community revitalization in underserved areas.

Morikawa has been effectively included with FORE Youth: The 2022 US Open Community Bequest Campaign, a $15 million activity to reestablish a nine-hole, par-3 golf course to give youth development opportunities near Los Angeles International Airport.

Morikawa and Sands’ Previous Collaborations

This partnership is not the first between Morikawa and Sands. The 2020 PGA Championship and 2021 Open Championship winner has previously participated in Sands-sponsored youth golf clinics in Macau and on New York’s Long Island, where Sands hopes to establish a casino resort. Morikawa will proceed to back these golf-focused community initiatives.

Sands has a long history of supporting Hawaii, a state crucial to the Las Vegas economy, even though it sold its Venetian and Palazzo properties on the Strip in 2022.

Casino Golf Sponsorships

Sands did not comment on whether Morikawa will wear the LVS logo on his golf apparel. If he does, he will join many other PGA, LIV, and LPGA tour professionals sporting casino logos on their shirts, hats, and bags.

MGM Resorts International, also operating in Macau, sponsors several touring golf pros, including Las Vegas residents Danielle Kang, Natalie Gulbis, Ryan Moore, and LIV Golf’s Kevin Na.

Lydia Ko, the world’s third-ranked female golfer, is sponsored by Solaire Resort Casino in the Philippines, while Patrick Cantlay, ranked eighth in the men’s rankings, regularly wears an Apollo hat promoting the private equity giant with significant holdings in the North American gaming industry.
