Dan Bilzerian, poker personality and self-proclaimed “King of Instagram,” has long drawn criticism for denying the Holocaust. Although his Armenian heritage links him to a people who suffered genocide under the Ottoman Empire, Bilzerian has repeatedly claimed that most Jewish deaths in World War II were due to disease and malnutrition rather than extermination.
A vocal critic of Israel, Bilzerian took to social media to celebrate Iran’s retaliation against Israel after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered a surprise strike on Iran over its alleged progress toward nuclear weapons.
Human rights groups say roughly 722 people in Iran have died since Israel began its “Operation Rising Lion” campaign. Reports indicate Iran has launched more than 450 missiles at Israel in response.
Bilzerian Applauds Iran’s Response
As Israelis seek shelter amid escalating attacks, Bilzerian expressed satisfaction with Iran’s retaliation.
“I love that Israel is getting f****d up,” he wrote on X, where he has more than two million followers. “It’s like watching a bully finally get what’s coming to him.”
After the United States conducted unexpected airstrikes on three Iranian nuclear development sites, Bilzerian accused President Donald Trump of acting under pressure from Israel and Prime Minister Netanyahu.
“Trump bombed Iran… he can’t say no to Netanyahu,” Bilzerian wrote, referencing allegations tied to the Epstein files.
Trump, who counts Dr. Miriam Adelson — the billionaire majority shareholder of Las Vegas Sands — among his most influential supporters, defended the action. Adelson has long prioritized strengthening Israel and deepening U.S.–Israel ties.
“There will either be peace or tragedy for Iran,” Trump said from the White House, citing decades of hostility from Tehran and insisting he would not allow further attacks on Americans.
Trump’s move contradicts his repeated campaign pledges to avoid new Middle Eastern conflicts and reject what he called “stupid wars.”
Debate Over Presidential War Powers
Trump’s decision sparked backlash from Democrats and some Republicans who argue he exceeded his authority. While Congress alone can declare war, presidents can initiate military action to defend the country.
On prediction market Kalshi, traders currently give Trump a 48% chance of facing another impeachment, up nearly 3% from last week.
