Las Vegas Sands Charitable Arm Donates $100K to 100 Black Men

Las Vegas Sands has donated $100,000 to 100 Black Men, a civic organization dedicated to educating and empowering Black youth in communities across the U.S. and beyond.

The Las Vegas-based gaming operator, which runs integrated resorts in Macau and Singapore, says the 2025 contribution continues its longstanding support of the nonprofit’s Las Vegas chapter. The donation comes through the Sands Cares global community engagement fund.

“As a leading service organization in the Black community and Southern Nevada, 100 Black Men Las Vegas consistently delivers impressive results in helping young people achieve their goals while providing crucial social support,” said Ron Reese, Sands’ senior vice president of global communications and corporate affairs. “We value how our annual donations are maximized through the organization’s deep understanding of youth and family needs, and its meaningful and responsive programming.”

Founded in 1963, 100 Black Men’s mission is to “improve the quality of life within our communities and enhance educational and economic opportunities for all African Americans.”

Sands is one of the world’s top developers of integrated resort casinos, operating Marina Bay Sands in Singapore and six properties in Macau: The Venetian, Londoner, Parisian, Plaza, Four Seasons, and Sands.

Sands’ 2025 gift will support several initiatives led by 100 Black Men Las Vegas. The $100,000 will help fund STEM programs, training for future law enforcement and first responders, and a tutorial program that prepares participants for careers as licensed real estate agents and mortgage brokers.

The company is also assisting the chapter in its search for a permanent facility. The group previously operated from a leased space at Silverado Ranch Place on S. Maryland Parkway but currently lists only a PO box.

“Sands has always understood our mission to empower youth and community members to be healthy, self-sufficient, and successful,” said Gentry Richardson, executive director of 100 Black Men Las Vegas. “With Sands’ support, we’ve expanded significantly over the last four years, and the 2025 contribution will help strengthen existing programs and introduce new initiatives that deepen our positive impact.”

Las Vegas Partner

Although Las Vegas Sands carries the city’s name, the company hasn’t operated a Nevada casino since selling The Venetian Resort and Palazzo in 2021 for $6.25 billion. Its corporate headquarters, however, remain in Las Vegas.

Sands continues to make major philanthropic contributions to Southern Nevada organizations. Last December, the company donated $15 million to the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) to establish the Sands Institute for Chinese Language and Culture. In the same year, Sands also donated $100,000 to Dress for Success Southern Nevada and $300,000 to the Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth.
